Open API Challenge: Scientific Program Data
AGU has long been a proponent and leader in open data and open science, not only in our own publications and meetings, but also within the broader research community. (You can read more about AGU’s ongoing efforts in this From the Prow post.)
AGU is taking that commitment to the next level by introducing an Application Program Interface (API) that will open the door for scientists, developers, and others to create innovative applications that advance science and our mission.
We invite you to develop a web-based tool that adds value to an API containing data from the Fall Meeting Scientific Program. The goal of the tool is to advance the scientific enterprise. Areas of potential value include, but are not limited to: serendipitous discovery of relevant research, discovery of new collaboration opportunities, and identification of emerging areas of science.
Individuals and teams interested in participating will need to request access to the API. Access to the data will be granted in early August.
The deadline to request access to the API has passed. We are not accepting any more requests.
Submission Deadline: 2 October 2017, 11:59 P.M. EDT
